What is Wetaway Resistance?
The creators of The Wetaway System realised that many properties are at risk from repeat flooding. Once The Wetaway System has been installed, the property will be dry and habitable, however the System does not offer protection against future flooding. Wetaway Resistance is a package that adds the extra benefit of providing protection against future floods, as well as carrying features that make post-flood restoration cheaper and less time consuming
How much protection does it offer?
Wetaway Resistance will provide protection from floodwaters up to 1 metre in depth*. If you expect your property will be subject to floodwaters deeper than this, please see our Wetaway Defence page where you will find details of our bespoke engineered solutions.
What does it involve?
Wetaway Resistance offers two layers of resistance to floodwaters. Firstly, the internal isolation membrane lining the internal walls will be upgraded to offer resistance to greater volumes of water through the installation of perimeter drainage and a sump and pump system / systems. This will expel water that penetrates the building's walls, and the membrane will prevent the moisture from reaching the internal wall surfaces.
Wetaway Resistance is further enforced with physical barriers for doors, windows and airbricks. These removable barriers are lightweight, and can quickly be erected when the property is at risk from flooding.
Non-return valves for mains drainage provide the final but critical support measure to the Wetaway Resistance programme of work.
